Prof. Olatunya Oladele S.

He obtained his MBBS degree from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State. He had his residency training at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Ile Ife in Osun state between 2005 and 2011 where he obtained the fellowship of The National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in the year 2011. He was a PhD Candidate at the University of Campinas in Brazil between 2015 and 2018 and obtained his PhD Degree in the year 2018.
He joined the Services of the Ekiti State University and The Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital in 2012 where he has been working till date, he has also held many positions of responsibility which include: Head of Departments of Paediatrics and Physiology at different times, Sub dean and Acting Dean of The Faculty of Clinical Sciences at different times, Residency Coordinator EKSUTH, Deputy Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (DCMAC) EKSUTH and currently the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) EKSUTH.
He became a professor of Paediatrics in year 2021. Prof. Oladele Olatunya is a member of many professional organizations which include: Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDICAN), Paediatric Association of Nigeria (PAN), Sickle Cell Support Society of Nigeria (SCSN), Sickle African Network (SAN), Nigerian Society of Paediatric Oncologist (NISPO), International Society of Paediatric Oncologist (SIOP), International Society For Social Paediatrics and Child Health (ISSOP).
Prof. Oladele Olatunya has received many recognitions Nationally and Internationally, these include:
1. NYSC State Award (Akwa Ibom State 2001)
2. Magret Kane Prize For the Best dissertation in Part 2 Fellowship Examination in the Faculty of Paediatrics National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria (2011)
3. EMZOR Prize For the overall best graduating student in Part 2 Fellowship Examination in the Faculty of Paediatrics National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria (2011)
4. Abstract Achievement Award at the American Society Of Hematology Conference [ ASH] Atlanta, Georgia , USA ,2017
5. He is a receiver of many Grants
Prof. Olatunya is Currently a member of the board of the National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria, Faculty of Paediatrics where he also serves as an examiner. He is also serving as an examiner to various Universities in Nigeria.
Prof. Olatunya is a prolific researcher and has published over 100 scientific Journal publications which are index in highly reputable indexing services. He has mentored many young academics through the supervision of their post graduate research thesis/dissertation at both fellowship and PhD levels. He is a pear reviewer to many local and International Journals. Prof. Olatunya is happily married.
