Radiology Department

BACKGROUND

The Department has been in existence since the creation of this hospital as at the then State Specialist Hospital.

The Department has witnessed several years of Infrastructural growth and has become a flagship of Radiological imaging not only in Ekiti State but also in the neighboring States and Nigeria at large. The College of Medicine, Ekiti State University and the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital jointly manage the Department Administratively.

It has been a Training Center for several generations of Medical Students and Resident Doctors including those rotating from other specialties. Radiographers from other training centers spend variable periods of time in the Department to enable them get exposure to some training facilities that are not available in their centres.

Mission

To provide Radiological Services that is timely, cost effective, appropriate and of the highest quality.

To train Health Care Professionals in Radiology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

To contribute to the understanding of health and disease through Imaging Technology related to Clinical and Basic Science Research.

To provide infrastructure and manpower support to undertake state of the art technology in Radiological service.

There are two major units in the department:

Radiography unit headed by Mr Ofobuike Ewo

X-Ray Technician Department headed by Mrs Olabiyi Modupe
