BRIEF DESCRIPTION/INTRODUCTION OF NURSING DEPARTMENT
The Nursing Services department is the largest department in Ekiti State University
Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti. The Department has four (4) groups of workers,
Registered Nurses, Health Assistants, Health Attendants and Porters providing
Nursing Services across the Hospital. Currently Ekiti State University Teaching
Hospital has Nurses in the following Nursing Specialty Areas;
Midwifery
Peadiatrics
Psychiatry
Nephrology
Opthalmology
Accident and Emergency
Burns & Plastic
Perioperative
Anaesthesiology
Intensive care
Public Health
Orthopedics
Ear, Nose and Throat
The department has 16 Wards, 15 Clinics and 4 OutreachesThe Department is headed by a Director Nursing Services named Dr. (Mrs) Falana S.M. with eight (8) Deputy Directors Nursing Services (DDNS) and Thirty-one (31) Assistant Director Nursing Services (ADNS) with many Chief Nursing Officers (CNO). The department is saddle with responsibilities of promoting quick recovery of clients/patients, prevent infections, prevent complications, ensure follow-up visit compliance, health education, maintaining standard of care. Nursing department in Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti have contributed largely and immensely to the successes ascribed to Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital on health care deliveries. This is achieved based on research works and capacity building seminars and workshops that makes our Nurses stay updated.
