Prof. J.K. Olabanji is a man of clarity, focus, integrity and noble character; he enjoys grace and good health. Prof., Kayode Olabanji had his University education at the University of Ife (Now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife) where he bagged a Bachelor degree (B.Sc.) in Health Sciences and MBChB Degree award.
Prof. Kayode Olabanji had part of his Senior Residency Training at UCH, Ibadan and Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Lagos and obtained the Fellowship of West African College of Surgeons.
In his capacity as the Substantive Chief Medical Director of the esteemed Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, during his second term on June 9, 2023, he has assumed the pivotal responsibility of formulating a comprehensive strategic plan. This plan is designed to effectively delineate the operational mission policies and interventions that will be implemented within the confines of the Hospital.
To promote community health by providing preventive, promotive and curative services, conducting Public Health research, and fostering partnerships to improve health outcomes in Ekiti State and its environ.
He has diligently endeavoured to establish a dynamic milieu that places a premium on the cultivation of collaborative endeavours, ongoing intellectual enrichment, and the advancement of one's occupational aptitude. The manifestation of these commendable endeavours is apparent through various notable undertakings, including the refurbishment of the hospital's infrastructure to cultivate an environment conducive to patients well-being, the establishment of a Molecular Laboratory for the purpose of screening patients for COVID-19, and the surfacing of internal roadways within the hospital premises to rectify the lamentable condition of the existing road network, among other notable initiatives. Intensive Care Unit has now been established and novel investigation techniques set up including CT scan, Endoscopy, routine Mammography test, etc. The upgrading of the erstwhile School of Nursing and Midwifery into the College of Nursing Sciences is another landmark. This is the rationale behind the myriad of interests in pursuing admission to this cutting-edge training programme within this highly esteemed domain.
Prof Olabanji is a very dynamic, transparent, seasoned and selfless leader who has taken EKSUTH to higher dimension of global recognition with modern facilities in place across all sections of the Hospital.
He is happily married to Prof. (Mrs.) Oluremi Olabanji and blessed with God-fearing children.
